Palace Café announced the launch of the New Orleans Rum Society, a group dedicated to the appreciation of the spirit, hosting a series of regular events and tastings all catered to local rum enthusiasts. Become a part of NORS and enjoy free membership, a rum “passport” in which to record your adventures, complimentary pour of the featured “Rum of the Month” and more!

The first event kicks off on February 17th, a cocktail evening with author and rum expert Wayne Curtis inside the Palace Café’s Black Duck Bar. The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and then move tot he Fleur de Lis dining room where guests will be led through the three styles of rum during a tasting and learn an overview of the colorful history of the spirit from expert Wayne Curtis. An additional cocktail and cuisine will also be served. Signed versions of Curtis’ book And a Bottle of Rum: A History of the New World in 10 Cocktails, will be available for purchase.
